Community Information

Public involvement is an important part of the Corps FUDS program. Interested community members are encouraged to become involved in the process. An information repository has been established that contains documents related to the environmental investigations at the site (Laramie County Public Library). In addition, relevant documents and site reports are available online.

Community InformationA Community Advisory Group (CAG) was formed in September 2009. The group is facilitated by WDEQ and we provide summaries of draft and final documents. We also provide the group with updates via e-mail. The plan for the first meeting is to have a roundtable discussion. The public can contact Jane Francis for more information. The CAG is currently at capacity but if someone wants to get involved they can submit a Community Interest Form to Jane Francis and if someone drops out, they will be added. The public is invited to attend and ask questions or make comments. The first meeting of the CAG will be held on January 26, 2010 at the Lion's Park Kiwanis Community House and is open to the public. The purpose of the first meeting is to allow the group to meet and conduct business. There will be a public question and answer session at the end if needed. Written comments are always welcome if someone doesn't want to stay for the whole meeting. Response to comments will be addressed by the WDEQ after the meeting or by an appropriate community advisory group member. Lion's Park Community Center is located at 4603 Lion's Park Drive.

The RI/FS will also be available for public review and comment when it is completed. In addition, the Corps will distribute information to the community through fact sheets and public information sessions. If you would like to be added to the mailing list, please contact one of the following:
